Shawn Crable was born on December 26, 1984 in Massillon, Ohio. Crable attended the 2000 and 2002 Michigan Football Summer Camps. He enrolled in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts and studies major. Shawn was a two year letterman in The University of Michigan Wolverines and battling for starting outside linebacker position. Shawn has played in 21 career games, needs four stops for 25 in his career, tallied 21 tackles, four tackles for loss, four sacks and five pass breakups, all five stops behind the line of scrimmage have been sacks and made four special teams tackles.
Crable attended Washington High School (2003) with coached by Rick Shepas he ran 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds and bench pressed 345 pounds six times. Crable is a three-year varsity letterman with key statistics of: 75 tackles, 17 sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions as a senior. He also recorded 125 tackles, six sacks, 19 TFLs and two interceptions as a junior.

In other sports, Crable was four-year letterman in basketball with an average of 18 points and 10 rebounds during his junior season, a three-year letterman in track/field and ran the 100-meter dash in 10.7 seconds. He also anchored 4x100 relay team.
As a freshman in 2003, Shawn Crable did not able to see a game action, because of his injured shoulder during his fall camp and missed his entire season. In 2004, as a sophomore he earned his first varsity letter and played in nine games. Crable contributed seven tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack with two pass breakups and he also recorded two special teams’ stops.
In 2005, Shawn Crable earned ghis second vasity letter as junior in the Michigan Wolverines. Crable appeared in all 12 games. He contributed 14 tackles, three tackles for loss, three sacks and three pass breakups and tallied two special teams’ stops.
